Doomsday Parade

Weeping Eagle

Once, a people spent their days and lives hunting and gathering.

They lived by their efforts and by what Nature provided.

Nature’s bounty was generous.

When the bountiful harvests and hunts were ended,

They would share in singing songs of joy.

They would dance and parade their joy before each other.

The people learned to parade before the hunt and harvest,

as they had at the end, joyously singing and dancing.

It rekindled life’s joy for the work ahead.

Looking forward to Nature’s bounty,

They would smile and sing joyous songs while toiling away.

It made life’s work a joy.

When the hunt and harvest were cruelly stingy,

They learned that what little Nature provided should not steal their joy of life.

So the people paraded joyously for a bountiful next hunt and harvest.

When the people learned that there were too many people

for the hunts and harvests to feed,

They did not let that steal their joy of life.

And so they paraded joyously, singing and dancing.

When the people learned that everything had been hunted and harvested,

And that they would all die,

They did not let that steal their joy of life.

And so they paraded joyously, singing and dancing.
